The Royal weekend created by Madam Tussaud can be seen in the Private Apartments, or you may wish to wander through the Earl of Warwick’s Castle.

Blenheim Palace
A full day tour of Oxford the ancient university city, as Matthew Arnold once described, the city of dreaming spires. Close by is Blenhiem Palace, the only Palace not lived in by the Royal Family but the home of the Duke of Marlborough, Sir Winston Churchill’s ancestor.

Whilst in the area a tour through some of the beautiful Cotswold villages, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-in-the-Wold, Chipping Campden, is a MUST to see thatched cottages built from the local honey coloured stone.

Just north of London is Cambridge. England's other famous university city, which was also the home of thousands of U.S. airmen during world war II. This could be combined with visits to the magnificent Ely Cathedral or the National Stud at Newmarket. Nearby is Duxford, part of the Imperial War Museum housing military aircraft, armoured fighting vehicles and midget submarines.

Also Chartwell the home of Sir Winston Churchill, and nearby the 16th century Igtham Mote and Hever Castle where Ann Boleyn lived. Set in beautiful surroundings and in the middle of a lake is Leeds Castle. The port of Dover with it’s famous white cliffs and, of course, the medieval City of Canterbury and Cathedral where Thomas Becket was murdered and later the inspiration of Geoffrey Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.

 

To go further a field visit the City of Salisbury with its magnificent Cathedral which has the tallest spire in the country rising to 404 feet, then on to Stonehenge the monument dating from 3,500 BC and finally the beautiful Georgian City of Bath.
